Off to the lake...

Nick and I are on vacation this week. Well, I'm on vacation this week. He's not been at his current job long enough to qualify for an official vacation yet, but since he works 4 on and 5 off, we're still able to take a few days together. He'll be off tomorrow through Sunday. Tomorrow morning we're leaving to go up to the cabin where we spent our honeymoon, and we'll stay through Sunday evening. The cabin belongs to Nick's grandparents, and they always let us stay for our anniversary. The big day isn't actually until Monday (8 years!), by which time we'll both be back at work, but we couldn't work it out so that Nick could have that time off.

Anyway, it will be heaven to have some time away. The cabin sits right on the lake, and we'll be able to get in some great fishing and swimming. I've spent the last two days trying to get the laundry at least mostly done and getting things packed. Morgan is bouncing-off-the-walls excited. She asks about "our cabin" all year long, and I have a feeling she's going to have a hard time getting to sleep tonight.

I've still not been spanked, and I hope that can be dealt with tonight. I got spanked at the cabin last year, but there are neighbors, and it's really not an ideal atmosphere for the kind of spanking I need (ahem, noisy). Not to mention the fact that it's hard to get Morgan to sleep up there without Nick and I turning out the lights and going to bed too. Here at home the house is big enough that if she isn't asleep, we can get her occupied with a louder than normal TV and mask any remaining sound with closed doors and running fans. BUT, spanking dealt with or not, I'm excited to be leaving tomorrow. I may check back on Friday (we have to come back for a few hours to get his paycheck and pay some bills), but otherwise, have a great week, and I'll report all when I get back!

Happy Father's Day!

This is a bit late, but yesterday was pretty packed. I want to say a big Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful men out there who spend every day doing what needs to be done, who work hard at a job that may suck, and pick up odd jobs along the way to make ends meet, who crawl in after a long hard day and still make time for tea parties and Dr Seuss. My sweetheart is one of the hardest working men I know, but he always has time to be a great dad (and a great husband!), and I'm fortunate enough to be able to say that I married a man just like Daddy. My own father held close the same principles of God and family, and I was a very loved little girl indeed. Happy Father's Day and thank you.

Shaky

DD has felt shaky for me lately. Money has been super-tight, work has sucked hard, and I just can't seem to get ahead of the laundry. Nick has been extremely stressed, mostly because of the money situation (our vacation is next week, and we're pretty much busted - thank God for the lake), but also because stress has made me wheel around on edge. As Nick said tonight, I've been coming at him with my claws out at every turn. The last spanking I got was much needed, but it was maybe less defined than I needed it to be. I guess I'm just feeling out of control and defiant, and what I need is to be firmly punished. Tonight Nick told me that I have a spanking coming. Thank God...

I've got a secret...

A quilt to warm in many ways...

The other day our down comforter developed a hole in it which, over the course of a few days, resulted in a virtual feather storm in the bedroom and led in part to the spanking I got last Saturday. Anyway, the down comforter is no longer on the bed, and I got out a quilt that my great aunt made for me when Nick and I hadn't been married for very long.

I loved the quilt when I got it, and I have to admit that it certainly stirred my spanko juices a bit, although I'm sure that was not her intention (or was it? Hmmm?). However, at the time spanking was a rather touchy subject between us, and I put the quilt away in favor of one that matched our sheets, and honestly, kind of forgot that I had it. So the other day when I went looking for a replacement blanket, I was delighted to find it again. And as I really looked at the pattern, it gave me naughty schoolgirl thoughts all over again, and I wanted to share it here. I've actually got a bruised bottom! Yippee! Okay, sounds crazy, I know. But I never mark anymore, and I happen to love spanking marks. Renewed...

I'm still kickin'

I'm still here - I know I've been pretty absent here for the last week or so. Things have just been incredibly busy. Saturday a friend watched Morgan so that Nick and I could visit a water park we bought season passes to this year. Morgan had never been, and filled with a five-year-old's typical skepticism for all things new, she'd been declaring for weeks that she didn't want to go. Well, we knew that once she actually went she'd be singing a different tune, so when R offered to babysit, we jumped on the opportunity to do the grown-up tour (actually riding big slides, etc...). We had such a blast that we decided to go back the next day after church and take her with us. Of course she loved it!

Since then both Nick and I have been battling the sniffles combined with an attempted uprising of the sinus crud we dealt with in February. Monday I was off, but he had to work, so there wasn't really anything special for Memorial Day.

Spanking has been pretty non-existent for a few weeks now, although hopefully that will change soon, because I'm starting to get pretty antsy, and I can feel myself getting to the point of need.

Last night was SO AMAZING! And to be honest, I kind of thought he might have forgotten what we'd planned. But nope! After we watched our Tuesday night favorites (House and Boston Legal), Nick looked over at Morgan and started making "Don't you look sleepy!" sounds.
