Startle

I work in customer service for a large financial institution. Yesterday a man called for information on his account. I asked him for his password as verification. He hesitated, then said, "You mean my safe word?"

Um, no.

Gratitude Tuesday - Y

It's Gratitude Tuesday again! Today we celebrate Y:

You - All of you guys! You make blogging fun! Thank YOU!

Yellow - A lovely color that always makes me feel sunny!

Yelling in the car - sometimes the quickest way to get the frustration out after a rough day at work! (I just make sure I'm alone when I do it!)

Yesterday - No matter how bad the day has been, it's nice to know that in 23 hours, 59 minutes or less, it will be yesterday.

Youth - As they say, you're as young as you feel, and as I rapidly approach 30, I'm clinging firmly to a feeling of 19!

Yogurt - Yummy!

Yogurt-covered raisins - Yummier!

"Young Lady" - Oooo, it gives me shivers!

Yes - Sometimes, the absolute best thing to hear.

Yet - A very nice word, whether it represents a goal to work toward or a catastrophe so far avoided.

Happy Gratitude Tuesday!

A Beautiful Evening

Morgan was baptized this evening. It was a beautiful ceremony, and a joyous occasion for all of us. Extended family on both sides were present, and Morgan's teacher came too. Morgan did so well - she was worried that she'd forget what to do and say, especially since she's very shy in front of crowds. But when the minister asked her if she'd made a decision to ask Jesus into her heart to be her Saviour, she gave a very firm nod yes, and she remembered to hold her nose when she went under. We were so proud of her! She's such an amazing, sweet girl, and we're so very blessed to be her parents - God was very, very good to us when He gave her to us!

The sticker I wish I had...

I see these stickers on cars all the time. In fact we got a PCB one when we went to Panama City Beach. This one I made at imagechef.com.

Gratitude Tuesday - X

It's Gratitude Tuesday! Today, we celebrate X:

X-rays - I've had a few in my life, and I appreciate the fact that we have the technology.

Xavier Roberts - He is the man whose signature decorates the bottom of every Cabbage Patch Kid out there, and when I was a kid mine was my favorite doll of all.

Xander - One of my close friends just had a baby named this, and I'm grateful for the joy he's brought to her and her husband.

Xylophone - Okay, I'm sure this is on everybody's list, but I really did love mine when I was little!

XXX - Gotta love those intimate moments with my sexy husband!

X marks the spot - Who hasn't had fantasies of finding buried treasure?

Xerox - Very handy machines!

Happy Gratitude Tuesday!

Happy (late) Blogaversary to Me!

AngelBrat's Blog is two years old! Okay, seriously - I am so lame that I was late for my own blogaversary. My first post was actually March 13, 2005, and I was under the impression the big day was the 19th. (And I've even been going back through the archives lately!) Ah well...

The past couple of years have been wonderful ones for me, and late or not, I feel like it deserves a mention. I've met such wonderful people on here, friends I truly treasure, and I've had so many wonderful memories made in my marriage. I want to say a huge thank you to each of you who have taken the time to stop by, whether you commented often, just once, or just took the time to read - you all make blogging such a sweet and fun experience, and you're all very special to me!

Love you guys!

An Evening Alone

Well, we finally got to try out those new crops...

Morgan spent the night with my mom last night, and we had the house all to ourselves. When we got in bed we did some fooling around, and then got out the toys. Nick, it turns out, has a nasty penchant for smacking thighs and other especially tender bits when using these crops.

The pink heart one is pretty lightweight, but the shiny surface is very stingy. It definitely had me jumping and squealing. The pitchfork, however, is made of sterner stuff. It's definitely heavier, and the prongs gave it a bite that made me sit up and take notice. After the spanking we went on to other pleasurable pursuits...

It was a very nice evening, and I was glad to have the time alone together. I was surprised to find marks on my bottom this morning. Of course they were in the spots that got spanked pretty raw in the big "let's try them all" spanking I got a couple of weeks ago, so it could be that I'm just especially markable there these days. WEG.

For clearance toys, I'm very happy with them...

Gratitude Tuesday - W

It's Gratitude Tuesday again! Today we celebrate W:

Wooden Implements - I admit it, I'm ridiculously addicted. I suppose I'm a naughty school girl at heart.

Whippings - I don't mean this in the dungeons and shackles kind, but in the Southern, don't make me take off my belt kind. Mmmmm!

Welts - Sometimes, they can be very, very nice.

Windows - both the Bill Gates and the let-the-sun-shine-in versions.

Work - I may not always like my job, but I do appreciate it, not to mention the ability to do it.

Women - and the fact that I am one!

Water - I've always been calmed and renewed by bodies of water, whether a lake, a river, a burbling creek, or the ocean.

Walking - I love to go for long walks, and I'm very grateful for the health and ability to do so.

Writing - I love to write. It's always been my outlet, and I wish I had more time for it.

Windy days - When I was little I can remember the magic of being outside, spinning around amid a swirl of blowing leaves. Something about really windy days makes me feel utterly alive.

Wal-Mart - Now where would I be without my favorite cheap implement store?

Worcestershire Sauce - It goes in my spaghetti sauce, on our steaks, in hamburger helper, on and on. Yum!

Happy Gratitude Tuesday!

Gratitude Tuesday - V

It's Gratitude Tuesday again! Today we celebrate V:

Venice - I'd love to visit there someday. Ever since I was a child I've been fascinated by the idea of a city full of water.

Vintage jeans - I love jeans, wear them everyday, and nothing beats a faded, worn-in pair.

Variety - Well, it is the spice of life!

Vehicles - Where would we be without them?

Virginia - It's for lovers!

Vermont Country Store - Home of the infamous "Vermin" bath brush.

Victoria's Secret - Yum!

Vision - Of course I'm very grateful for each of my five senses, but my sight is especially precious to me. I love to watch my daughter, to read, to look into my husband's eyes...

Vibrators - Mmmmm...

Voluptuousness - this is me, and my husband likes it very, very much!

Happy Gratitude Tuesday!

A very lovely trip...

Nick and I had a wonderful time at the marriage retreat. We were able to spend some time with another couple who are close friends of ours, but more importantly with each other! We had a very sweet evening together last night, and we got to spend some time just hanging out today before we went to my parents' house to pick up Morgan. The marriage retreat itself was great. The couple who spoke were warm and funny, and they did some great skits. It was so nice to have some time to focus just on us!

Good things come to those who wait...

So I went to Torrid tonight. Nick and I are going on a church marriage retreat this weekend, and I wanted to get some pretty lingerie for the trip. The other day I won a $25 mall gift card in a contest at work, and I planned to use it.

Well, I didn't find any lingerie that I wanted at Torrid, but I did find these, on clearance!!!

And at $9.98 each, I couldn't resist. Sometimes it pays to wait till after the holidays. The heart crop was obviously from Valentine's Day, and the pitchfork was part of their Halloween line. And how could I pass up the chance to buy kinky stuff with my prize money from work?
By the way, I did find some lovely lingerie elsewhere...

(By the way, that's not me)

Gratitude Tuesday - U

It's Gratitude Tuesday again! Today we celebrate U:

Uniforms - I love Nick in his work uniform. He just seems so capable and ready to do something physical...

Umbrellas - Just the ticket for shade on the beach or shelter in the rain. There are few more practical inventions.

Upside-down - and looking at the carpet...

Ushers - very handy to have when you need an escort to your seat!

Ultimatums - sometimes very, very sexy.

Underwear - specifically boxer briefs. Yum!

Upside-down cake - er, pineapple upside-down cake. Sooooo good!

Utensils - especially ones that can be used for spanking...

USA - God bless America!

Uncle - I had the world's best uncle. We shared a birthday, and he taught me to drive a stick shift - in his car. He used to take me and Nick out for burgers when he somehow knew we were broke, and he loved to take us out on the lake. He was severely diabetic and eventually lost both legs to the disease. After his first amputation he learned to water ski on one leg. Sadly he passed away 6 years ago the day after he got back from a trip to Vegas. I miss him.

Happy Gratitude Tuesday!

Just to let you know...

I'm still very, very sore.

From the "Be careful what you wish for" file...

I'm sitting very, very tenderly right now. So for a while now I've had a not so secret fantasy of experiencing the whole toy box in one round. There were a few that didn't make it in, but that fantasy was pretty much fulfilled last night. I've been spanked, strapped, flogged, paddled, and caned. My butt is thoroughly blistered. I'm not sure exactly how many licks were involved, but I think it was somewhere around 800. He started out with a warm-up of well over a hundred with his hand, and most implements I got 10 swats each with, although moving earned extra a few times. And there was fantastic sex too.

It was a multi-purpose spanking. Part of it was just because he's knows it's a fantasy I've been coming back to for a long time, part of it was a remember-who's-boss spanking, and part of it was a much needed reassurance.

Every so often, (okay, more often than I'd like to admit) I get really insecure about whether he's really okay with the whole spanking/DD thing. And I know this is stupid and unfair to him, because he's made a commitment to me, and calling that into question is incredibly ungrateful, even though that's not my intention. But every so often something will shake me just a bit. I read a question the other day (sorry, the source escapes me at the moment) about how, if your spouse were in a position to "start over" in a relationship and you were nowhere in the picture, would they seek out another spanking relationship. And this swirled around in my mind until I was certain that if he could do it all over again he would run for the hills at the first sign of submissiveness in a woman.

So when we went upstairs with pretty much the sole purpose of sex and all that entails and he got down the new paddle from Michael's, I decided I didn't want to play. I was going to "spare" him. I was going to make this just good old vanilla sex with no spanking whatsoever involved.

What I didn't realize was that he wasn't breaking out the new paddle because he felt like he had to. He was doing it because he wanted to play with me and give me something good and enjoyable, because he loves me. He patiently asked questions until it came out what was bothering me. When I put the "if you were starting over" question to him he said (after repeatedly assuring me that at no point in his life will he ever seek to "start over") that if he met someone and had a real connection with them and spanking was what they needed then he would be more than fine with it.

"I just feel like you feel pressured to do this for me, like you feel like it has to be part of sex for us," I tried to explain.

And then he said the most perfect thing. "It does have to be part of sex for us, because this is just what we do. It's part of you, and I'm okay with that. I want to do this for you." And even though he's said the same thing a hundred times before, for some reason it just clicked this time, and I realized, really realized, that it is a part of me, and because I am a part of him (as he is of me), then this is also a part of him, even if it's not something he started out with.

If the roles were reversed, if he had say, a foot fetish (which just for the record he does not), then I would be happy to cater to that, even though it doesn't speak to me personally. And he feels the same way about me.

Well, while I was having this epiphany he was gathering a large collection of implements together, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Thank you, baby. I love you.

Gratitude Tuesday - T

It's Gratitude Tuesday again! Today we celebrate T:

Tacos - Tacos are awesome. Not the best food for eating in the car, but very, very tasty just the same.

Tits - Mine have served me well. Nick seems to like them too.

Tennis shoes - I've never been a stiletto type girl. Give me a pair of New Balances any day.

Telephones - I use the telephone every single day, mostly on the job. And while I could definitely do without some of the people I talk to there, I'd hate to think what it would be like to not be able to use one in the rest of my life.

Television - I probably watch too much of it, but I love TV, and it's something that Nick and I bond over. We can spend half an hour dissecting Grey's Anatomy, House, or Lost.

Tweezers - Okay, I may be a little obsessed with tweezers. I'm the type of person who loves to pick at stuff on the small scale, clean dust out of the mouse, peel dried glue off the top of the bottle, untangle a knotted chain. Thanks to this compulsiveness, my 10x magnification mirror, and my precision tweezers, I have the best-groomed eyebrows in town.

Thumbs - what handy additions to our bodies!

Toilet paper - How can you not be grateful for toilet paper? Consider the alternatives!

Trampolines - What fun!

Tears - Tears are almost always a very good thing for me. Whether they come because I'm happy or because I've just been spanked they are always cathartic, and I always feel better for the release.

Happy Gratitude Tuesday!

A really big paddle...

So I got that spanking. Nick took care of it last night, 101 swats with the AngelBrat paddle. Okay, so it was supposed to be 100, but I was a bit slow with the "yes, sir" when he asked if I felt like I'd learned my lesson. My spankings always end up like pumping gas. The plan is to get $20 worth, but you lose your focus for one minute and you end up buying $20.01.

Thanks to Bethie we have another new toy. When I saw her new paddle I knew I wanted one. She was kind enough to direct me to Michael's craft store, where they were just $5.99! We went today and I picked one up, along with this super cute iron-on patch. Thanks for the idea, Bethie!
